Derby Baby May 8th 2012

It is amazing how far we have come with technology. today this is evident more than ever.

Today I sit at my work desk. glued to my cell phone and facebook, eagerly watching and waiting, while a friend updates the birth of her sisters/my friends baby.

and this is no ordinary baby. No. This is a Derby Baby! Our whole Roller Derby team feels attached to this little bug.

We were in our 3rd last game of the season last year. Mo'Rocko, our team captain, was Jamming, after weeks of working up her strength and stamina to debut this game as a jammer. We lost the game, but won the after party! and Mo killed on the track!

Then Mo took a hiatus from Practice for a few days. She told us she was "sick". When she came back, she dropped a bomb on us. She was pregnant! Her Derby career was being put on hold for a magical bundle of joy. This was the first pregnancy in our league since we started the league a short year and a half before.

As months went by, We attended a very derby wedding, and then a very derby baby shower. Our team had specific "Roller Derby Baby Parties", and we shared in the life changes taking place with our beloved team captain, now turned coach.

It was too exciting to sit behind my computer screen and see that first update on this mornings news feed - In the Delivery room!  - followed by 25 comments.

Update #2 - its a long night but still doing well - followed by 20-40 more comments.

Update #3 - need positive vibes for baby and mommy. - followed by every team mate dropping a thought into the feed. all anxiously waiting the news.

and finally, the last update: It's A Boy!!!!! Mommy and Baby are doing great! - hundreds of comments followed. hundreds of smiles at our little derby baby. The name was revealed, and naturally, our Teammates started nicknaming the little Guy with fighting Derby names. He will be a scrapper no doubt, with a team full of moms. He will be so loved, and is so special, He will have a wonderful life.

Today I was over the moon, vicariously living through a teammate and new mommy, every step of the way. Today was a reminder of how wonderful this life really is and how lucky we are to have so much at our finger tips.

Congratulations to My Friend, Teammate, Captain, Coach, and now, Mommy. I can't wait to watch that little bundle of joy grow into a terror!

This is probably my favorite thing to say when Promoting myself. Its strong and confident. Its assertive and bold. and it just feels damn good to say.

Happiness: Brides, Derby Girls, and Work!

Today I attended my firend's Bridal shower. Weddings make me smile so much!
I'm wishing the best for my friend A. and her Hubby-To-Be R.

My fellow Derby Girls are currently traveling home from a Fabulous weekend in Boston where they attended a Bout: Boston Massacre v. New Skids on the Block + Cosmonaughties v. Nutcrackers ! and those who could not attend that trip are working very hard on their Booty Blocking at Practice tonight!

My very exciting news today; All the positive enegry I begged for earlier this week payed off: The Kidney Foundation of Canada has hired me on to do their Fundraising!!! It's a dream job. All my life I've spent volunteering with every cause I could find. Now someone is actually going to pay me to do what I Love and Do best!!!

Thanks for all the positive vibes this week guys! I'm going to send it back your way now!

It's time to revamp my Bombshell! In less than 11 months I will be geting married. I have a new dirrection in life and a new career. I have goal and things to live for. It's time to take life by the horns and start feeling Great again!

I woke up this morning feeling the best I've ever felt. I was excited to go to the gym and work on my Bombshell! I tured the radio up and danced. My ultimate goal this week is to get back into the gym hard core. and so far, Its going Great!

I may have landed my drem job! I Love Karma!

I hooked up a friend with a sweet job in the fitness field. I just happened to know a person who's personal business needed sme new fitness employees. So I connected the two of them, and Voila! They clicked and life is great. Then, it turns out they were conversing about how Fabulous I am; and my business friend revealed she has a position for an HR person, which is currently empty! Sweet, sweet, turn of events for me!

We are going to get together and re-develop the position to better fit my skills and qaulifications. And I'll basically be her personal assistant for 4 weeks, doing my HR placement for school there. Then if I'm happy at the end of the placement period, and she has realised why she can't live without me; I'll have my dream job!

I can't get over how fabulous I am right now. hahaha. It's like I finally have caught and placed all of my ducks in a perfect little row of yellow happiness.
I've dealt with all things that have been pulling me down emotionally; I've faced those pesky fake friends; and I've cleared my schedule for nothing but fun fabulous times!
Next on the list: Big D comes home in less than 3 weeks! EEk, I will be so happy to see him again!

Everyone should watch Jessica Simpson's "The Price of Beauty"

I know Jess can come off as an airhead more often than not. But the lady is on to something! Jessica and her 2 friends travel the globe in search of different culure's and the definition of beauty in each place they visit. They meet every kind of woman from super models to poor little ladies, and each one has a sweet and sometimes sad story.

of course, you can't have a simpson show without some cheesy humor and Jess making an ass out of herself in some way. But thats why I love this girl!

Try New Things: Event #5-8

SUMMARY OF NEW THINGS I'VE DONE THIS PAST WEEK: (word of the day: Amazing!)

• Tried a new ROCKSTAR energy drink, Lemonade flavor, only 20 calories per can! amazing good!


• I Baked a Cake! that's not the best part. I made the icing from scratch! Yeah! My girls Ty and Whit came over to help and give moral support, lol. Then we watched "Fourth Kind" a scary movie about real events and aliens....




• went to the market saturday morning and met Carloe Liu. She makes handmade stamps! they are amazing! she takes pictures and turns them into a cartoon image, then carves our your stamp. find her HERE , or find her on Etsy!



• went to a fashion show with 4 of my most fashionable ladies, and maid friends with the owner of Revive Canada! AMAZING TIME!!! Revive Canada is a company I didn't know existed; they do amazing things for Canada and the World! This is the kind of company I dream of working for one day. Check them out HERE

It's been another AMAZING week of new exciting events! I'm loving life again, and meeting so many new and interesting people! Everyday has become a new and exciting adventure waiting to happen!

once upon a time there was a man who wished to capture the sun in a box.

He was a greedy man who also wished to make a fortune off of the sun.

So he found a way to capture the sun, and put it into boxes, and then began to charge lovely ladies across the land a dollar a minute to stand inside this box.

Soon the land was filled with lovely bronzed beauties. People came from far and wide to embrace the sun and its amazing energy. And a colorful nation was born.

He was a very smart man.

Every time I go tanning, I feel rejuvenated! And I am glad this man wished to conquer the sun and provide this amazing feeling to me upon my demand and at my leisure.

CupCake Heaven!

It's always good to do good things!
I've organized a bakesale with my Sorority to help the local Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Bowl for Kids Sake event this March 27th 2010. My Beau bought me a bunch of baking goodies, and some of my best ladies helped me bake over 100 CupCakes! They are pink and purple! SOOOOO Pretty!

Today I beat my personal Hula Hoop goal on Wii Fit. I Hulaed over 1000 times! that was on one side. i just barely failed going the other way. so my end score was 1990-something.

My next goal is to score 2000 Hulas or more!

This is a feel good moment, also because I've been a huge couch potato this week. I caught a cold, and have been feeling poopy. I tend to hibernate in hopes of getting over my cold faster.That is my justification for being lazy this week.

And the best part is; I was craving cake, so Dave bought me one from sobeys! haha, there goes all my hard work. Back to couch potatoness!

A Fabulous Life

It's December 23rd. Christmas is and has always been my favorite time of year! The Beau and I are in NFLD for chrsitmas with his family.

He took me to the duck pond where the city christmas lights are in full bloom. in the dark, by christmas light, we fed the ducks. they surrounded us in eager and excitement as we threw them bread.

a family of three came down the lane toward us; the daughter was pushing her mother in a wheelchair. I offered them the last of the bread I had so they could enjoy the duck frenzy that surrounded all of us at this point. We wished each other merry christmas; and the Beau took my hand and led me on to the light covered bridge.

He asked me if I liked it here. I said yes it is fantastic. Then he said, well i guess theres only one more thing that could make it even better.

As he got down on one knee; I started screaming my excited school girl scream; which I'm sure the whole city heard. I of course said yes amid screams of delight; and we popped a bottle of champagne he had tucked away inside the bread bag.

The most romantic place and time of my life!

I've found my prince charming!
