My French Diamond

I've been keeping this one a secret....
Over the Christmas holiday, I met a guy the old fashioned way - through a friend! Yes! No online dating involved with this one. Isn't that nice to hear? It actually still can happen. The only problem is, he lives in Montreal. and we are both so rooted in our current cities and jobs, we will never be able to be together. not at this point in life anyway...

His family owns and operates a jewelry business in Montreal. He designs jewelry for a living and does it well. he's showed me some of his work and it is amazing. a girls dream. He's made jewelry for famous people, stars and singers. and his work just fascinates me.

He was just passing through for the holidays, visiting friends, when we met. There was a deep language barrier between us. He spoke very little English, and I spoke very little French. but when it comes to love, sparks fly in a universal tongue.

We spent a day together, and then he left for the east coast for New Years Eve visits with other friends. On his way back, he stopped in to see me again. We spent another day together. He'd tell me sweet silly things about how beautiful I was, and how he wished he could spend forever with me. He says all the right things. He's just the right guy at the wrong time....

We now keep in touch via text, email and FB. We've been doing a count down to the next time we will be together . . .
Conveniently, I'm going to Montreal in February! I'm taking a Roller Derby training camp there; put on by one of the best teams in Canada. And my French Diamond lives right downtown, near my hotel. It will be a derby filled busy weekend. He's never seen a Roller Derby game, and is going to come watch the New Skids -one of the best teams in Canada! - with me :D

The countdown is currently at 4 weekends to go, and I'll be in French Diamond, Roller Derby Bliss for 3 whole days :)
