ParaCord Survival Bracelet

The Perfect Gift For *Him*

I discovered the perfect gift for my hubby. The Para-Cord Survival Bracelet. Its tough, manly, and practical. It can be used in survival situations, and looks great.

"You can take parachute cord apart, using the seven inner strands for various functions such as shelter building, traps, net making, repairs, etc. The seven inner strands can be broken down further to make fishing line, etc. So if you have 10 feet of parachute cord, you actually have seventy feet of inner strands, and still have 10 feet of nylon shroud, which can also be used to tie things."
~SurvivalResources
I'm going to make one myself. *Yay for Homemade!* The pattern is simple, and if you've ever made a "friendship bracelet" as a child, the process is basically the same.

This one has a whistle on it!

And I'd love to try this pattern out! My guy is a Soldier, and it would be perfect for him, and any guy in his family.

stuff with Tunes

I love anything gimicky and I love music. These two things together often make great promo-items.

So Today I am featuring my top picks of "Stuff with Tunes"

Grill and Groove Camo Apron with Speakers

JammyPack

Ladies Gadgets Bags with built in Speakers

more from Ladies Gadgets: Elegant Rhinestone Mini Speaker
Said to be small but mighty in sound.

And then I fell in love with LadiesGadgets.com and spent my day shopping there...
I had to share this one last -Non-musical, but Still So Cool item:

At first sight, this looks like the popular Flip Flap dancing flower that swings while powered by light. But there’s a secret – it has a spy camera that you can use to check up on your co-workers.

Cool Gadgets for Activity Tracking

I was searchign Pedometers for a work project when I can accross the Nike FuelBand and then the BodyMedia Band

Both of these items promote Active living, Set Goals, track steps and calories burned.
Both are a bit pricy. But both are pretty cool.

The Nike FeulBand had less positive reviews and people seemed unhappy with the accuracy of the tracking records.

I love the look of the Nike FuelBand myself over the BodyMedia, but if I was to buy based on reviews, I would probably pick the BodyMedia.

DAVIDsTEA is like a big kid candy store.
There are steel bottles lining the back wall, with every flavor of tea you can imagine; over 150 types of tea. And they let you smell the teas you are thinking about buying before they package it up for you. YUM.

I have a lovely new Tea Cup and Defuser from David's Tea *heart*
It has adorable elephants on it.
and the defuser part fits most coffee cups. It's so fantastic.

Dear Santa, I like Jelly Fish.

Dear Santa,

I like Jelly Fish.
Mostly since watching the movie Seven Pounds featuring Will Smith.

ThinkGeek has this cool mood lamp with swimming jellys.
  • Desktop lamp with a mini sea of jellyfish
  • Jellyfish float around and mesmerize you
  • LED colors can be changed to suit your mood

I am mostly infatuated with anything colorful, and lighted, and weird shaped, or irregular; at the moment. and water/tank objects. Basically stuff that you can stare at for a long and it never gets boring.
Lamps and lights of all sorts are very exciting, and I would be happy with one of everything.

    Thanks.

    SpitFire's Birthday

It was my HoneyBear's Birthday this Nov. 13th. (He was born on a Friday too)

I had planned to build the most manly bouquet I could for his gift.

...But I failed at that idea. So I'll keep it for another time.

So what did I get him that was awesome?

This ring: Which I previewed a while ago. and he was so proud to put it on right away.

      And these awesome gloves:
Touch Screen Gloves for the touch-screen user.
And they were a hit with SpitFire. He absolutely thinks they are the coolest thing, and is super happy with how they work too.

These guys retail for about $10. but you can find them at a local store for less if you shop around.

And if you are super cheap, then give your hunny a pair of these:

Homemade of course would be best *snip*snip* :p

And then I gave him a bundle of his favorite childhood candy:
Laffy Taffy - Willy Wonka just started putting these out again around Halloween and SpritFire reminisced about how much he loved these as a kid. We have a box of mini's which he devoured in less than a week.
I totally scored when I found full sized ones at the local bulk dollar store.

And SpitFire had a very Happy Birthday.

    Please Don't get me Jewelry

Here I go being brutally honest again. At least my boy knows exactly what I want. ..
SpitFire has been sneakily conspiring to buy my birthday gift. He makes excuses to go to the mall, and scopes out the jewelry store often.

Yesterday I threw a spoke in his wheel and said this-

Please dont get me jewelry from that store. I never really like that stuff. sure it's shiny, but it's not gawdy enough. (-I like anything ghetto-gold, big and tacky) Plus I dont need any. It will just end up hanging with the rest of my things on the wall.

So Why dont you get me something useful.
Like a Dental Certificate. That shits expensive! -true story, I really used this example
Or a Tanning package - cuz I'm tannorexic and can never get enough. that shits expensive too
Or new Hair! - (I <3 my Weave!)
or gift certificates to buy new underoos :D -as I turn to show him some holy, but still sexy(?), undies I was sporting. - dont judge me. New underwear is low on the list , after all the new roller derby gear I needed this spring.

I personally think that's a bang up list for gift ideas.
And probably defines who I am better in 4 items than any jewelry piece could.

    Man Jewels

My boy has his knuckles tattooed with "Spit" on the right and "Fire" on the left.

So I was thinking, when he gets married he will be covering the "R" in his tattoo with the wedding band. It will read "Spit Fi-e", and that is just sad.

So, I am planing on getting him a "Bling Ring" as I like to call it. It will look something like this:

and It works perfectly because, his first name also starts with "R"
How Pimp will he be then!?!

    Office Space Happy Place

Lets face it. no one likes to work. We work because we have to. I tend to get stressed easily by work, or the lack-of. If I feel unproductive in my job or struggle with a particular task I tend to be even more stressed. and sometimes the monotony of life and work drag you down. So I went in search of fun, happy, and inspiring items for my office space. work doesn't have to be hard or unhappy. Love what you do and the rest will fall into place.

     Here's what I found:

From a Website called Office Playground

Don't just play an ordinary game of thumb wrestling at the office—challenge your co-workers to play Thumb Sumo!

Team Work Magnet Men - How Cute are they!

    Hoberman Expanding Sphere
I want one of these! Reminds me of "The Office" Micheal's Desk toys.

    BuckyBalls
Have these in a Hot Pink color and love them!

Butterfly in a Jar - sound and battery powered
Bought this Yesterday and love it! The perfect desk pet, and no baby sitter or feeding needed for Holidays and days off :)

    Feng Shui for your office
I also read somewhere that having rocks on your desk will help create a "solid foundation". I believe it was a Feng Shui book. Rocks create stability and strength in your job and ability to work productively.
Psychology with Clients and coworkers - Having rocks on your desk gives visitors and clients a feeling that you are strong and reliable "like a rock".

Rock Bonsai Tree, also from Office Playground.

Rocks on my desk, picked up at the local Market :)
    1. Rock split in 2 which holds a tea light inside; and 2. a pen holder rock
    Functional and Fabulous!

You don't have to go very far to deck out your office space either! I wandered into a little boutique downtown called "Geek Chic"  and then into Chapters to find my fun office items. and they had lots of other fun office gadgets too.

And on my shopping adventure, if found THIS book:

The Book Of Awesome: Snow Days, Bakery Air, Finding Money In Your Pocket, And Othersimple, Brilliantthings

Happy thoughts bring happiness to life.

and nothing cures the work blues like a good dose of shopping :D (or a big glass of wine )
    Shop on my friends!

    Horse Shoe Necklace

I'm in love with this look!

I first fell in love with the horse shoe necklace as S.J.P. wore it on set for Sex and the City.

Sometimes we all need a little extra luck. and this is such a tasteful and fabulous way to get it.

I also only like to wear the horse shoe 'open-end-up', and could never wear something open-end-down.

Once upon a time, when I was a little girl, someone told me that the horse shoe holds good luck. and you have to carry it open-end-up, like a bucket full of water, to keep the luckiness from spilling out. and if you tip it up-side-down, then all the luck will run out.

This is why you will see horse shoes nailed over doorways of old country houses, and in old country movies, for dramatic effect, a door will slam and the horse shoe will fall over; resembling a negative omen.

While obsessing about buying a new piece to add to my collection, I found this wonderful website with tons of Sex and the City inspired gems! Check it out. If you love the SATC series as much as myself, and all the glam, you will definitely love this site!
