Beauty Crutches and False Securities

What is a beauty crutch? this was a topic featured on The Tyra Show one day. There were girls who has plastic surgery, girls who had make-up trends, and girls who were very much like myself, with Hair extensions and fake nails. So My beauty crutches are: hair extensions and fake nails. But recently, if any of you have noticed, my beau has helped me get over my beauty crutch of hair extensions. I've not had them in for almost a month! that for me is a big deal. I have issues which make me feel and believe I am ugly. and I use these things, hair and nails, to make me feel more secure in myself.

Tonight I trimmed back my 'porn-star' nails as they have so aptly been dubbed, to more "normal" nail lengths. but just for the holidays. in turn, in giving up my nails, I had to do something else to enhance my beauty. Since I have no current extensions to match my current red hair color, I grabbed a bottle of dark brown color from the discount shelf at Shoppers.... not such a great Idea...

welcome to my new crutch: Hair dye. I am never satisfied with my color, mostly because I've started doing it myself, since I dont have the money it takes to get it professionally done every month like I used to. (another reason why becoming an adult sucks) Anyway; tonight I 'tried' to dye my hair back to a normal dark brow color; but now I'm left with an almost black with red tint. it's over kill. someone needs to save me from myself; Please Tyra, come and fix me!

there's still hope. I figure one more box of dye would fix it right up. But the Beau said he'll budget some extra cash on his next paycheck to get my hair done professionally for the Christmas months! yay!
