Jester, Please, Entertain Us!

We are contemplating ways to entertain our guests between the ceremony and the reception on our wedding day. Our wedding will be a summer event, and here's hoping for the best weather possible! We have the ceremony planned for 2-3pm in the afternoon and the Reception to start at 6pm. So, how do we keep our guests happy for the 3 hour gap? And what if it rains????

Inflatable games - Pro: everyone gets a good laugh. Con: Juvenile and not-wedding-chic

Wine Tasting - Pro: our guest list consists mainly of adults. Con: everyone will be drunk before 6pm...

Juggler - Pro: they throw fire! Con: there is none! everyone loves a juggling show!

Stand Up comedy - Pro: Hilarious Fun! Con: where do I find one? (***perhaps open mike comedy? Save that idea for later!)

Family Talent Show - Pro: Everyone gets to participate! Con: could be Corny...

Cotton Cany Machine - Pro: I LOVE LOVE LOVE This Idea!!!! Con: pink is not one of my wedding colors...

Organise for the Town Historical Walks to start at our Venue, so interested guests can sign up and go for an inspirational walk to pass the extra time.

Magician - Pro: they are adorable fun. Con: too juvenile?

I ran out of ideas, so I searched for more! here's what I found:

DIY Photo Booth - Put a unique spin on the photo booth (a popular crowd-pleaser!). Make your own backdrop, props or gag items to create a theme for the booth. It’s an easy DIY project for your wedding, and the possibilities are endless. For example: Set up a faux wall and cover it with wallpaper and various vintage frames, cutting out the spaces where the pictures would usually be. Guests can pop their heads in and out to pose for photos with one another. Arrange for a photographer to snap the pics, or set up a camera with an automatic setting to let guests control the shoot.

Set Up a Sand Art Station -If you’re getting married beachside or going for a nautical theme, consider having a sand art station at your reception. Guests can visit the table and watch a live demo on how to transform sand into lovely keepsakes; then they can get crafty and build their own personalized favors to take home. The kids on your guest list will especially love the idea, though beware: If left unattended, they might make quite a mess.

  1. I love the DIY photo booth! that is very chic, it's very popular and new and exciting! The pictures from it are GREAT keepsakes!!
the comedy guy would be hilarious, but I have no idea where to find one either.
I like the town walk too! Although, in heels that might not be so fun for people.
